Standard Health Advisories
In addition to height bands, European theme park operators publish standard health advisories. These apply across multiple attraction types and are typically posted at the attraction entrance.
Height Measurement
Guests are measured at the attraction entrance. Footwear is included in most European park policies, though practice varies by operator.
Cardiovascular Advisory
High-intensity attractions advise guests with heart conditions, high blood pressure, or recent cardiac procedures to consult a physician before riding.
Pregnancy Advisory
Expectant guests are advised not to board thrill attractions, coasters, or rides with strong lateral or vertical forces at any stage of pregnancy.
Neck & Back Advisory
Guests with neck, back, or spinal conditions may be advised against high-force coasters, especially inverted or launched models.
Motion Sensitivity
Spinning rides and dark rides with strong motion cues may not be suitable for guests with vestibular disorders or motion sensitivity.
Seizure Advisory
Attractions with strobes, flashing lights, or intense sensory environments typically carry advisories for photosensitive guests.
Boarding Eligibility Categories
European park operators generally recognise three boarding eligibility categories for each attraction. Understanding these helps guests plan visits, especially with children of varying heights.
Unaccompanied Eligible
Guest meets or exceeds the minimum height threshold and may board without an accompanying adult. Most thrill attractions require 140 cm+ for unaccompanied boarding.
Accompanied Eligible
Guest falls within the accompanied band (typically 10–30 cm below the unaccompanied threshold) and must board with a supervising adult aged 18 or over.
Below Minimum
Guest does not meet the minimum height threshold and cannot board the attraction regardless of adult accompaniment. Applicable across all European operators.
